Union Public Service Commission has released an important notice on rejection of applications of UPSC Civil Services Exam 2023. The applications have been rejected for prelims exam to be conducted by UPSC due to non-payment of fees. The official notice can be checked by candidates on the official site.Candidates can make an appeal against rejection within 10 days. The rejection has to be submitted along with the documentary evidence (hard copy in original) either by hard copy or in person to Mr AK Roy, Under Secretary (CSP). The last date for submission of rejection is March 17.

As per the official notice, applications of 80 candidates for Civil Service Prelims Exam 2023 have been rejected after confirmation was not received from the Bank authorities regarding receipt of ₹100/-.UPSC released the list of CSE 2023 applications rejected due to the non-submission of fee. The list contains the names of 80 such candidates whose applications were rejected. Such candidates can send the proof of submission of the UPSC CSE 2023 application fee to the Commission by March 17 to revive their application.

UPSC 2023 applications were closed on February 21. The UPSC 2023 application correction facility was started on February 22 and the candidates were allowed to make only certain corrections in the UPSC 2023 application till February 28. The UPSC CSE Prelims 2023 is scheduled to be conducted on May 28.

The candidates whose applications have been rejected can appeal against rejected within 10 days along with the documents mentioned in the official notice. The documentary evidence in hard copy in original will have to be sent by speed post to Shri A.K. Roy, Under Secretary (CSP), Union Public Service Commission Examination Hall Building, Hall No 2, 4th Floor, Dholpur House, Shahjahan Road, New Delhi- 110069. The last date to appeal is till March 17, 2023.

If the Commission does not receive valid documentary evidence by the prescribed date, the application will not be considered for revival. No further communication/ request will be entertained by the Commission after the date mentioned above.

UPSC rejected the CSE 2023 applications where the application fee was not submitted as per the category of the candidate. The UPSC released the CSE 2023 notification on February 1. The applications were closed on February 21. The Commission provided 20 days for filling out the UPSC CSE 2023 application. This was the first time in recent years that the Commission did not provide the application withdrawal facility. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) released a new notification announcing the rejection of the applications of 80 candidates. These candidates have applied for the UPSC Civil Service (Preliminary) Exam 2023 but due to non-payment of the fees their applications were rejected.

In an important notice, UPSC has informed that confirmation of application fee receipt of Rs 100 has not been received by the concerned bank authorities for 80 applicants who applied for the UPSC CSE Prelims exam 2023. UPSC has also uploaded the list of 80 candidates whose application fees have not been received by the commission. Moreover, it informed that due to the failure of application fee payment, the applications of the 80 candidates have been rejected. 

The commission in the notice stated that “since the confirmation has not been received from the bank authorities regarding the payment of INR 100 in respect of the 80 candidates for the UPSC Exam 2023, their application has now been rejected.”

However, aspirants should not get disheartened as the commission has said that it will entertain the appeal against the rejection within ten days; i.e. until March 17, 2023.” In order to appeal against rejected candidates will have to submit the documentary evidence of: 

1. The system generated challan (in original), in case the fee has been paid/ deposited through cash mode in SBI
OR 
2. Copy of the debit/ credit card statement of Bank account statement as the case may be, in case the fee has been paid through debit/ credit card or through internet banking of authorized banks. The copy of the statement should be duly authenticated by the bank authorities.
