The Telangana Government has launched a tractor subsidy/loan scheme for farmers in the state. Under the scheme the state government will provide subsidy along with loan for purchasing tractors. Farm Mechanization Scheme will provide 50% subsidy for the purchasing tractors and other farm equipments along with loan for reaming 50%. The scheme is implemented in association with the center for the Mechanization of Agriculture.
As the demand for energy, particularly to draw groundwater with pumpsets, in the agriculture sector is on constant increase in Telangana in the recent years with considerable improvement in availability of the resource, the budgetary support for power subsidy for agriculture is also on the rise every year.

In the budget for 2023-24 presented to the Assembly on Monday, the State Government has allocated ₹12,727 crore for energy sector, mostly for meeting the expenditure for subsidised supply given to farmers, downtrodden sections and industries, including ₹12,000 crore set aside for 24X7 free power supply being provided to farmers with increase of 14.29% in the allocation compared to last year (₹10,500 crore).

Yantra Lakshmi Scheme Telangana: Eligibility
- Farmers who are residents of the state Telangana only can apply for the scheme
- Progressive individual farmers and co-operative societies can apply for the scheme
- Farmers who posses 6 acres i.e. 2.51 hectors or more land can apply for the scheme
- Small and marginal farmers will be given priority
The Telangana government has decided to distribute 3,900 tractors . The center government has given a budget of Rs. 14.89 crore for the scheme out of which Rs. 3 crores is already spent on the scheme. The objective of the scheme is to help farmers and reduced their costs. The scheme is expected to increase farmers income and reduce their expenses on the labor. The eligibility criteria of this scheme are listed below:
- Farmers must live in Telangana State permanently.
- To take benefit of the subsidies in their accounts, applicants must have a bank passbook.
- The Yantra Laxmi Scheme is open to applications from both individual farmers and cooperative organisations.
- Additionally, farmers with 6 acres of land may apply for this scheme.
- In the Beneficiary Selection, small and marginal farmers will be given preference
