After AIADMK and DMK, the name Tamil Party, which contested alone in 234 constituencies, got 6.85 per cent votes.
The party won 1.06 percent in the 2016 assembly elections; He got 3.85 percent votes in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. His vote share has increased significantly in this election.
Political parties must get two MLAs or 6 percent of the vote in an assembly election to be approved by the Election Commission. In this sense, we, the Tamil Party, have emerged as a recognized party.
Similarly, the DMK, which contested the elections in alliance and won four seats, the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and the BJP, which won five seats, has become the recognized party. DMK has won and failed everywhere, has lost. Just as the party’s vote share has fallen, so has the Tamil Nadu party’s vote share. Similarly, the vote share of the People’s Justice Center Party has fallen.
However, it is noteworthy that the party did not contest all the 234 constituencies in the assembly elections.
