Delhi University, DU has launched the Common Seat Allocation System, CSAS Portal today, June 14, 2023. Candidates who wish to apply into Delhi University for the various UG courses can now begin submitting their applications for the same on the official website.

In the first round, students will be filling in their application and uploading all their details in order to register with universities. As per the information released by the DU Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh during a press conference today, the last date of admissions will be August 31, 2023.

For DU UG Admissions, a total of 71,000 seats are available in around 78 UG Courses. Delhi University will also be offering a total of 198 BA Programme combinations for students across 68 colleges. Overall, there are a total of 1,553 combinations of courses for students to apply.The University of Delhi‘s application window for registration under the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) 2023 for undergraduate programmes is open. The name, photograph, and signature will be auto-integrated from CUET UG 2023 application form and will be non-editable. The admission will be based on the CUET merit score 2023.

On the Common Seat Allocation System (CSAS) portal, more than 2 lakh applicants have registered for Delhi University’s UG admission 2023 as of today at 2 p.m. On June 14, Vice Chancellor Yogesh Singh of the University of Delhi introduced the DU CSAS admission website, 2,17,650 people in total have applied for admission to DU to date.

41,431 students still have not submitted the DU admission form on the CSAS portal, while 1,76,219 have already submitted their applications. This academic year, the institution is offering 71,000 seats across 78 UG programmes. The DU VC had stated there are 198 BA programme combinations during the DU CSAS portal launch event.

According to the requirements for each programme, a candidate’s admission to DU will be determined by their combined scores on the language and/or subject-specific portions of the CUET UG 2023.

DU Admission 2023 Eligibility Criteria

According to the information bulletin released by the university, admissions in UG, PG programmes offered by the University of Delhi will be based on the scores obtained by the candidates in CUET UG 2023 and CUET PG 2023. The UG admission norms for the School of Open Learning (SOL), Non- Collegiate Women Education Board (NCWEB) and Foreign Nationals will be different. While PG admission in NCWEB will be based on the CUET scores.

While 11,656 new applicants have been allotted seats, 6,104 candidates have got their choices upgraded in the DU 3rd merit list 2023. Around 34,642 aspirants froze their seats. 28,889 students opted for upgrade after the first round whereas 16,860 were retailed on their previous allocation.

Candidates can check their DU UG third seat allotment result 2023 by entering their Common University Entrance Test (CUET) UG 2023 application number and password.

Students will have to accept the allotted seats under the 3rd seat allocation by August 24. The respective colleges will verify and approve the online applications of candidates under the third merit list from today till August 25.

Candidates accepting a seat will have to pay the admission fees till August 26. The university will announce the DU spot admission round for the vacant seats after the DU third seat allotment list.

DU UG Admission

For DU UG admission 2023, the candidate must have passed Class XII or its equivalent examination from a single recognized board. Additionally, the candidates must appear in CUETUG 2023 in the Languages and Domain Specific subjects as per the Program-Specific Eligibility for which they are desirous to take admission.

DU PG Admission

For DU PG Admission, candidates belonging to Unreserved (UR), Other Backward Classes-Non Creamy Layer (OBC-NCL), Economically Weaker Section (EWS) category, the minimum eligibility is 50 percent marks in aggregate or equivalent grade in the qualifying examination as per the Program-Specific Eligibility. While for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) category, the minimum eligibility is 45 percent marks.

A single gateway for both UG and PG courses was introduced by Delhi University last year. Also, the University won’t make the cut-off list public, as it did last year. So, students must therefore carefully fill out and update their CSAS application. To secure a spot in one of Delhi University’s associated colleges, students must register on the CSAS 2023 admission portal and show up for the counselling process as well.

DU CSAS registration has begun and the first seat allocation result will be declared in the second week of July. The academic session is slated to begin from August 16, the DU VC said. In the first round, 20 per cent extra seats will be given to UR, OBC categories and 30 per cent for SC, ST in all programmes. But for colleges like SRCC with less than 5 per cent withdrawal rate, only 10 per cent additional seats will be allocated for UR, OBC and 15 per cent seats for SC, ST. As per the DU PG admission 2023, Delhi University will be offering 13,500 seats for 77 PG programmes.

Candidates who appeared for the Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET UG) 2023 and the Common University Entrance Test-Postgraduate (CUET PG) 2023 are eligible to apply for the CSAS counselling process for the academic year 2023–24. The university is once again using CUET scores to determine which students are accepted into its UG and PG degrees, just like it did last year. Depending on their CUET results, students will be admitted into more than 70 Delhi University institutions.

The candidates belonging to unreserved, other backward castes, and economically weaker sections will have to pay an application fee of Rs 250. Candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwBD categories will have to pay Rs 100. The application fee is non-refundable.

DU officials have shared that students are advised to submit their preferences at the earliest and not wait until the last date.

The detailed schedule for DU UG Admissions will be announced by the university in due course of time. Once the CUET UG 2023 Result is declared, candidates would be required to enter their scores as the admissions into all courses will take place via CUET UG Exam.
