The Assam State government has launched Assam Scooty Scheme or Pragati Bharti Scheme 2023 to provide scooters to meritorious girl students.The Government of Assam has created a new scheme known as Bharathi Scheme in which the Scotties will be provided to the meritorious girls’ students of class 12 who have achieved first division in their last examination. The main aim of launching this scheme is to provide the Scooty to around 22,000 girls students who have secured first division in their 12th examination. Under the Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme, encouragement will be provided to the girls to continue their higher education.

Objective of Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme 2023
The main objective of starting this Pragyan Bharati Scooty Scheme 2023 is to provide appropriate resources to all girl students studying in the state of Assam. The scheme will encourage girls to pursue higher education and become independent on their own. The number of benefits provided under the scheme will encourage students. Each student will get a scooter which will be useful for them to travel.
Benefits of Assam Pragyan Bharti Scheme
The major benefits of this scheme started by the Government of Assam to provide financial benefits to the students are as follows: –
- Students will be provided benefits through this scheme of the Assam government at the time of lock-down due to coronavirus.
- Free textbooks, uniforms, and all other requirements will be provided to all the beneficiaries under this scheme by the Government of Assam.
- Rs 1,000 will be provided to students at the undergraduate level and Rs 2,000 for students at the postgraduate level as an incentive to purchase textbooks.
- A lump-sum subsidy of Rs 50,000 will be provided to the student in case of a loan taken for education.
- All admissions from higher secondary level to postgraduate level will be made absolutely free for all students for the academic year 2022-23.
- Along with this, Scotty will be given to meritorious students under Assam Pragyan Bharti Scheme who have passed the 12th standard.

There are no specific eligibility criteria yet, some basic eligibility criteria are as follows.
- The Assam Pragyan Bharti Scheme can be availed only by the permanent resident students of Assam.
- Only students studying in government-aided colleges/colleges will be benefited under this scheme.
- Work will be done to benefit undergraduate or postgraduate level students through this scheme.
