Preparation of TNEA Rank List 2023
The Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE), Tamil Nadu, will release the TNEA rank list 2023 on the official website. The TNEA rank list will be released in pdf format for all categories.
The TNEA rank list will be prepared by the authority based on the marks obtained by candidates in the specified subjects in the qualifying exam after reducing them to a base of 200.
While preparing the merit list, the ranks will be given to the students based on three criteria:
- Date of birth
- Category of the candidate
- Scores obtained in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry in the qualifying examination
To prepare the TNEA rank list 2023, a normalisation method is used. The overall TNEA rank lists for all categories and the individual cutoff of TNEA will be published on the official website.
The authority will reduce the total marks to 200 as the total marks to rank students. The maximum weightage will be from Mathematics. The rest will be shared by Physics and Chemistry as given below:

- After the publication of the rank list, DTE, Tamil Nadu will conduct counseling for the allotment of seats and admission. TNEA counseling will be conducted online mode. On the basis of rank list, candidates will be invited for counseling.
- Counseling process will consist of logging in, payment of counseling fee, filling of choices, locking of choices, tentative allotment, confirmation of tentative allotment, final allotment, and admission.
