The TNEA random number 2023 can be accessed from the official website at tneaonline.org, using registered email id and password.The online enrolment for engineering admissions coming to an end, the next step will begin on Tuesday when random numbers will be assigned to the applicants.

Certificate verifications will go on till June 20 and counselling will start on July 2. The certificate verification will be done online, for which aspirants may visit facilitation centres to do certificate verification. There are 110 facilitation centres, including 11 in Chennai, established for this purpose. Besides certificate verification, grievances redressal team will also be present at each facilitation centre. This year, the number of applications is higher than last year.

What is a random number

TNEA random number is a unique 10 digit number that is assigned to every applicant appearing for TNEA 2023. This number is generated by a unique number generating algorithm.

While 1.8 lakh students applied last year, there are 2,29,167 applicants this year, said an official. Of them, 1,55,124 candidates have completed all formalities, including uploading certificates, he added. The Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions 2023 (TNEA 2023) is completely online, including registration, payments, choice filling, allotment and confirmation. Counselling for special category students (differently abled, wards of ex-service personnel and sports quota) will be held from July 2 to July 5, while the process for students coming under general category and candidates availing 7.5% government quota will be held from July 7 to July 24.

When there is a tie between two candidates the following process is followed-

• If the candidate possesses a higher percentage of marks in Mathematics he would get a higher rank
• If the above criteria are not met then Physics marks are checked and candidates are ranked accordingly
• In case the tie is still not broken, the marks in the fourth optional subject are checked and the rank is assigned to the applicants
• Lastly, the date of birth is also considered and the elder candidates are given preference over younger
• The DoTE authorities use the random number when all the above rules to break a tie between two or more candidates have failed.

TNEA Random Number – Details

• Directorate of Technical Education (DoTE) has sent the random number of TNEA through email and SMS to all the registered candidates
• Applicants will be provided with a PDF document on successful registration of application through the TNEA Application Processing System
• An e-call letter that contains the date, time, and address of the TFC for original Certificate Verification will be generated and shall be made available on TNEA’s official website
• Also, registered candidates will have to sign in by entering login Id/email ID and Password
• The random number is of 10 digits that will be randomly allotted to the registered candidates
• After downloading TNEA Random Number, candidates will be required to go to the TFCs with their application, original certificates, and their photocopies within the given timeline.
• Students will be given a week’s time to choose the closest TFC, which can be in any district across the state.
• During this time, students will also be handed out a booklet with information of all colleges, seats, and courses. This handbook will also be available online.
• After normalizing marks scored by candidates (across all boards), the rank list will be published on September 7 in online mode.
• The authority will prepare the overall rank and community-wise rank lists.
• A candidate will be allotted college and branch through online counselling only, as per their choice, based on their overall rank and community rank.
