This comes two days after the Karnataka High Court directed Isha Yoga Centre to maintain status quo on the construction activities being carried out near Nandi Hills in Karnataka’s Chikkaballapura district.

Interestingly, the visit was cancelled although the court Friday allowed the foundation to proceed with the scheduled function of the unveiling of the statue.In fact, Dhankhar was also scheduled to inaugurate the New Management Development Center (MDC) building of the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bangalore on January 15.

An email message from the Vice President Secretariat stated that, the programme/visit of the Vice President of India to Karnataka (Bengaluru, Chikkaballapur, Hubli-Dharwad) from January 14 to January 16 stands cancelled due to “unavoidable reasons”.The Isha Foundation on Friday announced the unveiling of the 112-foot Adiyogi bust at Chikkaballapur will go on as per its earlier schedule on Sunday after it received a green signal from the Karnataka High Court.

But an official notification said Vice President of India Jagdeep Dhankhar has cancelled his three-day visit to Karnataka beginning Saturday. He was scheduled to unveil the bust at the sprawling campus in the presence of governor Thawar Chand Gehlot and Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai.

Guidelines to Visitors:

  • Entry to the premises is allowed only through the Malai Vasal entrance on Poondi Road near Muttathuvayal.
