Compilation of this database will be completed within the next 100 days,” said Sahoo briefing newsmen here.
He said farmers will be issued with Identity (I) Cards.With this database of farmers it will be smooth and easier for the State government to implement and provide assistance to farmers under various schemes and programmes, he added.The Minister informed that based on the information provided in the database Aadhar Card, bank account details, etc of the farmers will be verified.With this database in place, the scope for errors that used to earlier occur for reasons like incorrect bank account details other details provided by a farmer will no longer happen, he explained.

Responding to a query on how the database will be sourced, Sahoo said that the information on farmers will be sourced from e-pass, KALIA Scheme, PM-KISAN databases, and other databases on the basis which Direct Benefit Transfers (DBTs) are being made.There will be a single database of farmers compiled from sourcing information from these databases, he clarified.Every effort will be made to make this database error-free, the Minister stated.
Worth mentioning, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Friday launched ‘Krushak Odisha’, a farmers’ database of the State government, under the 5T initiative.The vision of Krushak Odisha is to create a golden record of farmers in the state which would become the core of all the Government to Farmers’ Interaction in the state to enable multiple use cases
