School education department on Thursday directed the chief educational officers to fill 13,331 vacancies in government schools with temporary teachers.As many as 4,989 secondary grade teacher posts in primary and middle schools, and 5,154 graduate teacher posts in high and higher secondary schools are vacant. In higher secondary schools, 3,188 postgraduate teacher posts are vacant. The Teachers Recruitment Board will fill these posts in the current academic year.
Till the posts are filled, these vacancies should be filled with qualified candidates on a temporary basis through school management committees. While the secondary grade and graduate teachers would get 7,500, 10,000 a month as consolidated pay, the postgraduate teachers will get 12,000 as compensation,” a circular from school education commissioner and elementary education director.
