ks2 sats mark scheme 2022|ks2 scaled scores 2022|primary assessment gateway:The SATs are a series of standardised assessments for Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils, aimed at testing their learning progress. SATs results are also used by government (and many parents) as one indicator of a school’s quality – better results means a better school. The dates for the KS2 SATs vary from school to school, with each choosing their own dates within a certain range. The dates selected by schools will vary based on a number of different factors, but we do know that the tests will take place in May.

The dates for the KS2 SATs normally run over a one week period. KS2 SATs consist of 6 papers too but to be sat within time restrictions. In addition there is a teacher assessed element in KS2 to establish a ‘Writing’ score. These papers are sent back to be marked centrally with marks standardised around a score of 100.

These tests are both set and marked externally, and the results are used to measure the school’s performance (for example, through reporting to Ofsted and published league tables). Your child’s marks will be used in conjunction with teacher assessment to give a broader picture of their attainment.

The KS2 SATs for English and maths taken since 2016 reflect the amended national curriculum, and are more rigorous than previous years’ tests. There is also a new SATs marking scheme and grading systemwhich has replaced national curriculum levels.

In 2020 and 2021 KS2 SATs did not take place due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Primary school SATs results will not be published in national league tables until 2023 to reflect the disruption to children’s learning.

Ks2 Sats Mark Scheme 2022

As an examiner, you’ll mark completed exam papers against a mark scheme. You’ll work as part of a team with a supervisor who will guide you through the process and answer any queries.

Most of our exams are marked on-screen but in some cases you’ll work with candidates’ paper scripts.

We’ll make sure you are fully trained so you understand the exam process and your part in it. There will also be standardisation activities to make sure you can apply the mark scheme consistently.
