There will be elections in 1,931 wards in municipalities and NACs, as well as 168 wards in the three municipal corporations, including Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC). The State Election Commission (SEC) Thursday announced the dates for the next ULB polls in Odisha in 2022, after five-phase Panchayat polls.The BMC has announced the date for the local body elections, which will take place on March 24, 2022.

Candidates can file nomination papers between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. from March 2 to 7, 2022, according to the announcement. On March 9, 2022, the nominations will be reviewed, and a list of eligible candidates will be announced for Odisha municipal election 2022 date is March 10, 2022.

Candidates have until 3 p.m. on March 14 to withdraw their nominations, and the final list of candidates will be released at 5 p.m. on the same day.

On March 24, elections for corporator and mayor will take place from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. On March 26, 2022, the votes will be counted beginning at 8 a.m. On March 29, 2022, the names of the Mayor and Corporators who were elected in the polls will be announced.

For the first time, civic body elections will be place in four newly constituted NACs: Remuna, Chandbali, Dhamnagar, and Bijepur. The elections will not be held in Hindol in Dhenkanal district or Attabira in Bargarh district because the terms of these two NACs have not yet ended. Padhi indicated that an official announcement in this respect would be released on February 28, 2022.
